Imperial Pipeline Inspection

Imperial Oil started inspecting a 2 km stretch of its pipeline in Sarnia Wednesday.

Some preventative maintenance is expected.

In a message to Aamjiwnaang First Nation, spokesperson Kristina Zimmer says the community may notice the use of a temporary ground flare in the area near Sun Ave. and Vidal St. S and another flare at Pembina Main Facility on Hwy. 40.

She says the ground flares will be used for a short duration, approximately two days, during the overall work period of approximately four weeks.

Zimmer says precautionary air monitoring will be conducted.

The work is expected to be done by Aug. 27.
