The cause of a $120,000 house fire on Durand St. Monday has been listed as "undetermined, accidental in nature."
Sarnia Fire Life Safety Educator Mike Otis is reminding residents to be very careful when burning candles.
"Sarnia Fire and Rescue just want to remind the public to never leave candles unattended and to properly extinguishing all smoking materials," he says.
Firefighters arrived at the home to find thick black smoke and three metre high flames but the occupants were able to get out safely.
One person did require treatment for smoke inhalation.
Two dogs were rescued but a cat perished in the blaze.
