Legionnaires Add Pennesi To Coaching Staff

The Sarnia Legionnaires have announced that Jordan Pennesi is joining the Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League team as an assistant coach for the 2018-2019 season.

Pennesi, most recently, was the head coach of the Mooretown Flags Junior C team where he and his staff won the award for Best Coaching Staff in their division. The Flags also posted their best record since the 2005-2006 season.

Ironically Pennesi was dismissed by Mooretown this spring after the Provincial Junior Hockey League team decided to hire veteran head coach Mark Davis who had been let go by the Legionnaires.

Pennesi's coaching background also includes a stint as head coach in the Lambton Jr. Sting AAA program from 2010 to 2014.

The Legionnaires organization says it's excited to welcome Pennesi aboard, noting he's familiar with a large portion of the anticipated roster, having coached many of the players at various levels in recent seasons.
