An investigation by the St. Clair County Sheriff's Office in Michigan has led to the recovery of English and French Bulldogs from several U.S. states. Sheriff Tim Donnellon says detectives looked into complaints from China Township and Mussey Township about dogs being purchased with what turned out to be stolen or fraudulent credit cards. After a lengthy investigation, a search warrant was executed April 12 at a home in the city of Ecorse, Michigan in Wayne County. Police say a total of ten English and French Bulldogs were found at the residence and another was picked up at a home in nearby Lincoln Park. The dogs, some in poor condition, were taken to River Rouge Animal Control. Besides Michigan, dog breeders from Kentucky, Ohio and New York recovered their animals. Police say the man whose home was raided claimed he owned the dogs. He was issued a citation for animal neglect. Ecorse police continue to investigate and Sheriff's Office detectives are trying to identify the men involved in the purchase of the dogs in St. Clair County.
