A long-vacant piece of property on the north side of Exmouth St. in Sarnia is finally being developed.
Owner Lou Longo is building a 7,000 sq ft plaza on Exmouth St. between Elmhurst Ave. and Lynwood Ave.
He says it will be geared to office-type tenants.
"I know we are sitting on other vacant buildings and land as well, but we feel now's the time to do this," says Longo. "The market seems to be telling us we shouldn't have to wait for tenants for very long on this particular site. We're building on-spec, and although we don't have any tenants at the present time, we feel if we build it, they will come."
The property has been vacant for the past ten years.
Longo says the development has about a $2-million price tag and construction should wrap up this fall.
