Forecasters Monitoring Winter Rain

Environment Canada is monitoring a weather system that could dump up to 25 mm (1 inch) of rain on Sarnia-Lambton through Monday.

A special weather statement was issued Monday morning.

The weather agency says there may be significant breaks in the rainfall but it could occasionally be heavy at times.

Forecasters say in the winter when the ground is frozen, rainfall warnings are issued when amounts exceed 25 mm within 24 hours.

Warnings could be issued.

There is the chance of showers and then flurries Tuesday as seasonal temperatures return in the afternoon.

A fog advisory issued for Sarnia-Lambton over the weekend ended Monday.
