Legion's 'Catch The Ace' Tops $12,000

The "Catch the Ace" jackpot on Thursday at Branch 62 of the Royal Canadian Legion has climbed to $12,360.

Spokesman Les Jones says the weekly event at the Front St. Legion begins at 5pm with the draw at 7:30pm.

"50% of ticket sales every Thursday night go to the Legion Lottery Fund," says Jones. "30% goes into the progressive pot and 20% of the nightly take goes to the nightly winner. We draw a ticket. Whoever's ticket is drawn automatically wins 20% of the night's take. Then they pull a numbered envelope and if it contains the Ace of Spades, they win the big jackpot."

Proceeds go towards local charities including the Inn of the Good Shepherd, Salvation Army, youth groups and Cadets programs.

Jones stressed you do not have to be a member of the Legion or have any military affiliation to attend.
