Habitat For Humanity Sarnia-Lambton handed over the keys to its 50th home during a ceremony Tuesday afternoon.
The Robinson family's new home, at 348 East St. N, is the second one built in partnership with Ontario Works recipients within Lambton county.
Habitat Executive Director Sarah Reaume says the family worked hard as well.
"They work side by side with Habitat," says Reaume. "Once the homes are built, and they've completed their 500 hours of volunteer service and our homeowner education program, they buy the home from Habitat for zero down, zero interest on a 20 year Habitat-held mortgage."
Reaume says Bruce, Jocelyn, Erik, and Lily are looking forward to settling into their new home.
It features three bedrooms, a full bathroom, an open concept kitchen and a main floor dining and living room with an unfinished basement.
The build is part of a Canada-wide initiative, which will see Habitat for Humanity build 150 homes in celebration of Canada's 150th anniversary.
