Sarnia Remembers

Canadians everywhere will pause to remember our war dead Saturday, November 11.

Remembrance Day ceremonies are being held in Sarnia beginning with a procession from the Royal Canadian Legion on Front St. at 10:30am.

Branch 62 President Jim Burgess says they're expecting a large crowd this year.

"Traditionally weekends are good, we usually get more people and more school children come out so it's usually a bigger crowd on Saturday's," says Burgess. "As long as the weather is good, and it's a weekend we'll have a lot of people out there."

The procession will end at Veterans Park just in time for a moment of silence at 11am before the wreath laying ceremony.

Burgess says once again the Silver Cross Mother is Pat Poland, mother of Corporal Brent Poland.

She will lay the first wreath in honour of her son and all those who lost their lives fighting for our freedoms.
