Wet Start To The Week Continues

The last full week of summer break continues to be a wet one.

Conditions were favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms Tuesday afternoon and evening.

Environment Canada posted a severe thunderstorm watch for Sarnia-Lambton at noon Tuesday and it was ended around 5:25pm.

Forecasters advised that thunderstorms capable of producing strong wind gusts and heavy rain were expected.

Rainfall amounts of 25 to 50 mm were possible with areas that receive multiple thunderstorms experiencing higher amounts.

Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads.

More pleasant conditions are forecast for later this week, with a mix of sun and cloud expected from Wednesday to Friday.
