Rotarians Ready to Serve 2,000 Breakfasts

A community tradition continues Saturday with the annual Rotary Club of Sarnia Mackinac pancake breakfast under the Blue Water Bridge.

Spokesman Mike Elliott says it has been going strong for more than 30 years.

"Our volunteers get there around 4:30am to set up and start cooking," says Elliott. "We generally run out and last year we dished out about 2,000 breakfasts. When you think each plate has a couple of sausages and three pancakes, that's a lot of food."

The breakfast runs from 7am until 11am and costs $6 for adults and $4 for children.

Proceeds support local initiatives like Pathways Health Centre for Children.

The Bluewater Trails Committee will have a secure "bike corral" set up for people wanting to ride their bikes to the event.
