Nominations Being Accepted For Go Green Awards

The City of Sarnia is recognizing businesses, individuals, and youth who make positive contributions to the local environment.

Nominations are being accepted for the 2017 Go Green Awards until April 14.

Sarnia City Councillor Brian White says there are six categories including eco-warrior, greenest classroom and youth or youth group.

"I think environmental stewardship is a conversation that doesn't happen a quite a high enough level here in Sarnia, but that is changing," says White. "Environmental stewardship is about protecting the air, the water, and the soil that we all require in order to survive. We think this is an important opportunity to share the knowledge of the great work that individuals and businesses are doing in the community."

Nomination forms are posted on the city's website at www.sarnia.ca in the News Centre.

The winners will be announced on Earth Day April 22.
