Betty Dee Walking To Celebrate Canada's 150th

Betty Dee is at it again!

The 84-year-old Sarnian plans to celebrate Canada's 150th birthday this year by walking the 114km. Beaver Valley section of the Bruce Trail.

Spokesperson Bonnie Stevenson says Betty will be joined by a group of hikers from the Flesherton-Meaford area.

"We're going to raise money for St. Joseph's Hospice here and for a new hospice, Chapman House, being built in Owen Sound," she says. "Betty wanted to do something special for both Canada's birthday and for Hospice. She chose the Beaver Valley Section because the beaver is Canada's national symbol."

Donations for the Glowing Heart Trek can be made directly to St. Josephs Hospice in Sarnia.

The walk will get underway July 1.
