Light Up The Hospital

The Bluewater Health Foundation will flip the switch Thursday in it's "Light Up The Hospital" fundraiser.

The ceremony at the main entrance begins at 5:30pm.

Foundation Executive Director Kathy Alexander says they've started a new initiative this year.

"We're asking people in the community to purchase a blue bow for $10," says Alexander. "That helps us decorate Bluewater Health's tree with blue bows and you will also receive a blue bow to tie on your own tree or wear on your jacket. It's an opportunity for the foundation and the community to bring a little bit of the holiday season into the hospital. We know that being in the hospital can be really difficult at any time of the year, but especially over the holidays when people want to be home with their loved ones. The lights to be illuminated represent the donations that people have made to Bluewater Health."

Lights can also be purchased for $25 each and they will be used to help light up the hospital.

This year's funds will help pay for a new $2.1-million CT scanner.
