Sarnia Woman Killed In Weekend Crash

Lambton OPP say a 79-year-old Sarnia woman died in a two-vehicle crash Saturday at Hwy. 40 and Plank Rd.

Police say Shirley Gibson was driving a small crossover type passenger vehicle that collided with a transport truck shortly before 2:30pm.

Gibson was taken to hospital for treatment but died later. The driver of the transport truck suffered moderate injuries in the crash.

OPP Technical Traffic Collision investigators were called in and the intersection was closed for nine hours.

Police say the investigation is ongoing and no charges have been laid at this time.
