Cyclist Charged Fleeing From Police

A Sarnia man is facing 11 charges after failing to stop for police Friday evening.

Police say around 7:30pm, an officer tried to stop a cyclist riding on a sidewalk in the Talfourd St. and Indian Rd. area.

The cyclist allegedly tried to evade the officer by speeding up and then fled on foot, unloading a backpack along the way.

Police allege the suspect was in possession of break and enter tools, a folding knife and a syringe with a quantity of suspected methamphetamine.

The 33-year-old faces charges including possession of a controlled substance and possession of break and enter instruments.

He was in custody awaiting a bail hearing.
