Woman Tries To Swallow Drugs At Police Station

A 30-year-old woman who showed up at Sarnia police headquarters to complain, ended up being arrested after allegedly trying to swallow drugs.

At about 10am Wednesday officers were dealing with a woman who was acting strangely when a clear bag of suspected methamphetamine was seen in her vehicle parked outside the front doors.

Police say the woman shoved the bag in her mouth but after a brief struggle she spit it out and was taken to hospital for observation for fear she had ingested some of the substance.

The woman was released from hospital and was to appear for a bail hearing today on charges of possession of a controlled substance, obstructing a peace officer and three counts of breaching an undertaking.
