Energy Symposium Hosts Attendees From Across The Country

The Bowman Centre for Sustainable Energy will host an energy symposium Wednesday that's expected to draw attendees from across the country.

Centre Director of Communications Marshall Kern says they'll provide supporters with an update on the think-tank's operations.

They'll also provide updates on two potential big energy projects.

"We will be looking at the two pillars the Premiers have identified as essential for a Canadian sustainable energy strategy of hydrocarbons and electricity so we have two big projects," says Kern. "Those big projects have been the visionary theme that has driven the Bowman Centre for a number of years. We will be revisiting the ongoing work we've been doing for a bitumen upgrader in Canada as well as going beyond that to look at other advanced materials so we can get beyond simple combustion and add a lot to the resources we have."

About 60 attendees from as far away as Alberta, B.C. and Quebec will be in attendance.

The gathering has been called the Richard Marceau Energy Symposium in honour of Mr. Marceau, who died suddenly in late September. He was a charter associate with the Centre.
