The Sarnia Police Service has taken over the investigation into a suspicious fire early Sunday morning in the Cardiff Acres area.
The Criminal Investigation Division is looking into the cause of a blaze at a residential unit on Lanark Crt.
Firefighters arrived around 6am to find flames on the outside of the second storey of a home.
Sarnia Fire and Rescue officials credit a neighbour for alerting sleeping residents to the blaze, allowing them to get out safely.
Damage to the row-townhouse unit is estimated at $80,000.
