Artist In The Vineyard At Alton Farms

Alton Farms Estate Winery in Plympton-Wyoming is holding an Artist in the Vineyard event this weekend.

Sisters Merle Henshaw, Ulila Robson, and Harriet Turner will be set up on site doing acrylic paintings.

Co-owner Anne Alton says they'll also be debuting their Foch/Frontenac Rose wine.

They made the wine after it beat two others in a public taste test last year.

"In this case, one is a marechal foch which is generally a heavy red wine, and the other is Frontenac which is also a pretty heavy wine," says Alton.

"So, it's a dark Rose with very strong fruit flavours. It's slightly more acidic than a red wine would be but it's supposed to be like a white wine so you drink it chilled. It's a great summer wine."

Alton says they plan on bringing even more artists on board next year.

The event runs from noon until 6pm Saturday and Sunday.
