OPP have now opened one lane on the busy westbound 402 and the remaining lanes should reopen, once tow trucks remove the wreckage of two tractor trailers that collided near Indian Rd. just after 11pm Monday night. Three people sustained serious but non-life threatening injuries. The closure of the highway has resulted in long back-ups of traffic heading stateside. Trucks and cars were detoured off onto Exmouth St. while some used Michigan Ave. All westbound traffic had to access the Blue Water Bridge at Front St. which has led to long waits, up to 45 minutes, for those wanting to cross into the U.S. We can likely expect delays for several hours yet until traffic clears.
