Change Of Direction For Communities In Bloom

After being named an "International Challenge" award winner last year, Sarnia's Communities in Bloom will this year begin to implement some of the judges recommendations.

Committee Chair Anne Marie Gillis they want to eventually put new signs up at Germain, Canatara and Centennial Parks.

"We want to make sure the signs are consistent all the way through," says Gillis.

"We're working hand in hand with Parks and Rec. and with the Planning Department because there's a certain criteria when it comes to signage."

This year they will concentrate on Germain Park in hopes of putting up signs similar to the one at Mike Weir Park

The committee's first fundraiser is a $5,000 "Back Yard Make-Over" lottery with the draw to be made on Mother's Day.

Tickets can be purchased at DeGroot's, or from any member of the committee or Sarnia Bluewaterland Rotarian.
