Legionnaires Shut Out Tobacco

The Sarnia Legionnaires are doing their part to shut out tobacco use in the community. The Junior "B" team has partnered with Lambton Public Health to develop a tobacco-free policy for players, coaches and volunteers within the organization. Health Promoter Ashlyn Brown says they're holding Tobacco-Free night at the Legionnaires game against LaSalle tonight. "We're going to have giveaways and promote being tobacco free," says Brown. "The first 600 people at Thursday's game will receive cowbells that have a tobacco free message on them." Brown says tobacco use can lead to various health problems including shortness of breath, coughing, increased heart rate, and wrinkled skin. She says the Legionnaires players are good role models for other youth hockey teams in the community.

Players will be available after the game to sign special Sarnia Legionnaires hockey cards.
