Bluewater Power Warns Of Phone Scam

Bluewater Power is cautioning residents about a telephone scam that has resurfaced. President and CEO Janice McMichael-Dennis says homes and small businesses have been getting calls saying their service will be shut off if payment isn't received. She says the calls are not coming from Bluewater Power.

"We're urging people if you get a call over the phone, demanding money over the phone, you hang up and you call Bluewater Power", says McMichael Dennis.

"Do not call the number they provide you, they actually have a 1-800 number set up, but you call the local number at 519-337-8201 and talk to us." McMichael-Dennis stresses the utility will never call customers demanding immediate payment.
