Corunna's new seniors complex, located near the No Frills, is expected to be open either this summer or fall.
The approximately $12-million project will feature 147 units and will eventually have stand alone cottages surrounding the building.
St. Clair Twp. Mayor Steve Arnold says construction has been helped by good weather.
"They've had a very good fall and winter and I think they're well ahead of schedule as far as construction because of the better weather we've had this year," says Arnold.
Arnold says the complex will be a positive for the community and will allow seniors to remain close to their former homes.
He says there will be medical help and hot meals on site.
