Point Edward mayor Larry MackenziePoint Edward Mayor Larry MacKenzie is looking forward to new developments in 2016.
He says the Hampton Inn will add to the village tax base when it opens in the new year on Venetian Boulevard.
Mayor MacKenzie says there are challenges as well.
"Our waste water treatment plant is over 20 years old," he says. "We're looking at quite a bit of maintenance and repairs."
The mayor says one of the other bright spots is the finalization of plans for a waterfront splash pad.
