Kenwick Restoration Continues

It could be two to three months before the last of the Kenwick Place residents will be able to move back into their original apartments.

Steeves and Rozema spokesman Greg Fraser says they continue to restore three, third-floor units and eight more on the fourth floor of the highrise, damaged by fire November 22.

"These units have now been turned into kind of a construction zone and we'll need to involve architects , engineers to get the proper design to rebuild this particular area" says Fraser.

"All the residents that have been displaced from these units, I believe have found alternate accommodation for them all, most of which have moved into other apartments in the Kenwick building".

Fraser says the number of displaced residents is under 20.

The blaze was blamed on an electrical malfunction of a heating cable.
