Syrian Refugee Family Arrives Soon

A refugee family from Syria is expected to arrive in Sarnia-Lambton by month's end. A local Christian Reformed community refugee committee, representing four area churches, is preparing to support two families locally. Committee member Art deGroot says it's hoped one family, currently living at a refugee camp in Lebanon, will be arriving this month. He says it's a family of five, a mother and father and their three daughters.

The committee has raised $15,000 towards its goal of $54,000 to help support the two families. It's hoped a pancake breakfast at Sarnia Christian School December 12 will bring in another $10,000.
