Historical Society Needs Volunteers

The Sarnia Historical Society is looking for some help from the community as it undertakes two special projects.

Editor-in-Chief Phil Egan says they're compiling a book on the 175-year-old Sarnia Fire Department and need help with research.

He says hands on training on how to use the library's microfilm readers and indices will be provided.

Egan says the society is also seeking interviewers to speak with residents for a planned book called An Oral History of Everyday Life in Lambton County.

Those interested are invited to an information session on Tuesday at the Strangway Community Centre from 6pm until 8pm.

There are four new committees at the historical society including fundraising, membership, research, and projects.

Call Phil at 519-491-6361 for more info.
