UPDATE: Taste Of Winter Over Weekend

Like it or not, winter is approaching.

Environment Canada has upgraded a snow squall watch to a warning for Watford, Pinery Park and eastern Lambton County.

Meteorologist Geoff Coulson says a cold air mass moving into southern Ontario will produce rain showers that are expected to transition over to flurries, off the lake, late Friday night and into Saturday.

Coulson says snow accumulation of 5 cm is possible Friday night and another 5 cm to 10 cm Saturday morning.

Total snowfall amounts of 15 cm are expected by Saturday evening in a few locales

Reduced visibility in bursts of heavier flurries is possible.

Temperatures are expected to rebound for the work week, next week, with daytime highs by Tuesday around 16 C (61 F).
