CCAC Diverts Admin Savings To Front Line

The Erie St. Clair Community Care Access Centre says it has diverted administrative cost savings to boost patient care.

CCAC spokesman Caen Suni says the organization recently reallocated $1-million to front line care services.

The CCAC also held feedback sessions with community partners in Sarnia, Chatham and Windsor early last month.

The organization says participants at all three sessions seemed especially excited about their direction toward Patient and Family Centred Care and bringing volunteer Patient Advisors into the organization.

The Auditor General expressed concern Wednesday that only 61 per cent of $2.4-billion of CCAC funding for 14 Ontario centres is going to direct patient care.
