Remediation Of Former Gas Site On Sarnia's Waterfront

Sarnia's mayor has received a prompt reply from CN Rail regarding the remediation of a small parcel of land on Front St. near the foot of London Rd.

Suncor has agreed to remove underground tanks at the site of a former gas station and donate the land to the city.

Mike Bradley says CN wants to ensure doing so does not undermine the bed under the nearby train tracks.

CN says a geotechnical investigation of the site recommended the installation of a retaining structure and they'll continue to work with consultants to allow for removal of the tanks without compromising the tracks.
