A Sarnia resident helped foil a break and enter on St. Laurent St. around 10pm Thursday night.
Police say the alert citizen walking their dog notified police who were able to apprehend the suspect in the driveway of the home. The suspect had allegedly used a brick to smash a window and gain entry.
A 21-year-old Sarnia resident is being held for a bail hearing and faces charges including break and enter, mischief to property, possession of a controlled substance and six counts of breach of probation.
Police are urging everyone to report suspicious activity by contacting them.
