City Ratifies Transit Deal

City council has ratified a new contract agreement with 53 Sarnia Transit employees.

The members of Unifor Local 127 get pay hikes of 1.5 per cent in each of the three years of a deal that's retroactive to January 1, 2015.

Adjustments have also been made to some benefits.

The total cost of the settlement to the city, over the three years, adds up to more than $190,000.

The drivers, mechanics and maintenance workers approved the contract last month.
