Sarnia Man Dies In Possible Drowning

A Sarnia man has died after a possible drowning in Kirkland Lake.

The Ontario Provincial Police says on Friday around 12:30pm, officers responded to a report of an unconscious man at Larder Lake beach. The man was discovered in the water and was transported to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Following an investigation, police say a 32-year-old man went for an afternoon swim and did not return safely to shore.

Police have identified the man as Robert Conant of Sarnia.

This investigation is ongoing, but police say no foul play is suspected at this time. An autopsy is scheduled for an unknown date.
