Tanker Rollover

Charges have been laid after a tanker carrying diesel fuel rolled over this morning on Hwy. 40 at Plank Rd. Lambton OPP responded around 8am. Constable Chris Doupe says the investigation revealed a tractor pulling a dual trailer entered a curve with too much speed. He says the rear tanker-trailer jackknifed and flipped upside down on the road.

The rear flipped trailer was hauling diesel and an unknown amount has spilled onto the roadway. The Community Awareness and Emergency Response team responded and both the environment and transportation ministries were notified. The driver, a 45-year-old Brantford man, is charged with careless driving.

Highway 40 between Plank Rd. and MacGregor Sideroad was closed until about 6pm to allow for cleanup of a small amount of diesel fuel and the removal of the tanker.
