College Teams Shine At Firefit Challenge

Lambton College's Firefighter Combat teams claimed six medals at the Scott Firefit Western Ontario Regional Challenge in Pt. Edward this past weekend.

Zac Moniz and Jordan Lee won gold the Men’s Tandem event, while Vanessa Maciukiewicz and Courtney Surridge took home silver and bronze medals in the Women’s Individuals.

The women also claimed a silver medal in the Team Relay and the men managed to take home the bronze. Zac Moniz took the ninth spot overall in the Men’s Individuals, a personal best for him, and the team finished the competition in third place.

Lambton College alumni competing at the event also took home a series of medals including a gold for Assistant Coach Ian Van Reenen. Van Reenen missed breaking his own world record by just 0.4 seconds.

Tabitha Siegfried took the top spot in both Women's Tandems and Women’s Relay, while female competitor Jenny Butts claimed silver in the Men’s Relay.
