Pan Am PB For Santavy

Weightlifter Boady Santavy set a personal best in the clean and jerk at the Pan American Games in Toronto Monday. The 18-year-old Sarnia native also matched his previous best in the snatch, and his combined total of 322 kg. was two kg. better than what he has managed in the past. Santavy, the youngest athlete in his weight class, finished sixth in the event won by a Cuban.

Thedford's Tim Schrijver was a member of the Canadian team that won gold in the coxless four rowing competition Monday.

Drew Shaw of Sarnia advanced to the medal round of the Men's Trap Shooting competition. Shaw, who works at Factor Gas Liquids, finished third in a field of 30 shooters.
