An afternoon ride on a city bus ended with a man being charged, and an officer assaulted. Sarnia police were called for an intoxicated man on a bus just after 3pm Wednesday at Vidal and George streets. The bus was stopped after the driver asked the passenger to leave, but he refused. Police arrived to find the 26-year-old-man asleep on the bus. It's alleged when awakened he became belligerent and verbally abusive. While officers attempted to arrest the man for being intoxicated in public, he allegedly tried to kick the officer in the head several times. He's charged with assaulting an officer and three counts of breaching his probation and was being held for a bail hearing.
