Watershed Conditions Statement Issued

Despite receiving between 40mm and 60mm of rain during storm activity Monday, the St.Clair Region Conservation Authority is not dealing with any major flooding.

The St.Clair Region Conservation Authority includes the Sydenham River watershed and smaller watershed draining directly into southern Lake Huron, the St.Clair River and northeastern Lake St.Clair.

Manager of Water Resources Girish Sankar says they have reached their banks and continue to monitor water levels.

Sankar says fields and flood plains in many rural areas are saturated resulting in more immediate run off into rivers and streams.

Residents are reminded to avoid watercourses and flooded areas due to slippery banks.
