Mosaic Project Compiles Local Art

Calling all local talent!

The Lambton Mosaic Project is asking for local residents to participate in an artistic project outlining what they love most about the community.

Submissions can include poems, short stories, art, photographs, crafts, and more. They will then be compiled into a map of Lambton County and displayed throughout the community.

General Manager of Organization for Literacy Noelle Fisher it celebrates Canada's 150th birthday in 2017.

"In celebrating your own community, then you're also celebrating the multicultural and mosaic aspect of your community," says Fisher.

Artistic submissions will be accepted up until March 31, 2016. All submissions will be featured online at www.lambtonmosaic.com, while a selected amount will appear on the map of Lambton County.

"It's about Canada, and its about who lives here. Each individual has their own idea of what community is," says Mosaic Coordinator Kathryn Evans, who hopes to bring out the hidden talents in the community. "I think it's a wonderful community project. We've got so many hidden talents in the area."

The project is also holding a raffle draw for Kathryn Evan's painting titled "A Place to Grow." All proceeds will go towards supporting the Mosaic project.
