New CO Detector Law Enforced

As of Wednesday, a new Ontario law requiring that all homes have a carbon monoxide detector is being enforced.

Sarnia Fire Prevention Officer Roel Bus says CO detectors should be installed near all sleeping areas and in service rooms.

Bus says if firefighters are called to your residence and there's no CO detector you could be fined $360.

Landlords with over six rental units have until October 15 to install the alarms.
