Sarnia police now say the reported theft of two dogs, a purse and an iPad from a vehicle at Northgate Plaza Thursday was a prank. After hearing a broadcast of the report the owner of the dogs contacted police to say a friend decided to take the dogs and the purse as a prank to teach her a lesson. The dogs were returned to their rightful owner Thursday. Sarnia police say it's another example of how a childish and foolhardy prank can result in wasted police resources and taxpayer dollars.
