As of Sunday the Blue Water Bridge international crossing is down to a single span.
The original bridge, built in 1937, will be closed for resurfacing and waterproof undercoating that is not expected to be finished until June 30.
The Canada bound span, built in 1997, will be used for all traffic in both directions during the three month project.
Michigan Department of Transportation spokesperson Diane Cross says only one lane of traffic will be open in each direction up the bridge, with two lanes available as vehicles move down and approach customs at each end of the span.
She says the designation of lanes for the NEXUS and F.A.S.T. programs will be sporadic.

Officials say there will be delays.
