An all-way stop will not be installed at the intersection of Giffel Rd. and Lombardy Dr. in Sarnia's north end.
Sarnia council decided to back the recommendation by city staff, despite the request from concerned citizen Nathan Jeffrey.
City Engineer Andre Morin told council a 4-way stop wasn't warranted under the Ontario Traffic Manual.

However, staff has been directed to investigate on street parking and further review the current speed of 50 km/h on Giffel Rd. to determine if a speed reduction is warranted.
Giffel Rd. runs north/south between Errol Rd. and Michigan Ave. in the area east of Indian Rd.
Engineer Morin is also recommending a speed detection device be purchased to help gather information on this and similar matters.
He says staff will investigate that option.
