Tundra Swans Arrive In North Lambton

The Tundra Swans have started to arrive in north Lambton.

Lambton Heritage Museum Events Coordinator Gwen Watson says the birds aren't landing in the nearby bog so the public has no opportunity to see them.

Watson expects more of the birds to arrive by week's end.

Each year the birds migrate some 6,500 km from the U.S. east coast to their breeding grounds in the Canadian Arctic. They rest and feed for two or three weeks each year in the Thedford bog area.

The Return of the Swans Festival is on until April 5.
