Mayor Mike Bradley is pleased with an apparent about-face by Veterans Affairs Canada on the frequency of visits to Sarnia.
A letter to the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 62 from Acting Area Director Beverly Martin indicated the normal monthly visits would be cut back to just two a year.
After Blackburn News reported the concerns of the mayor and MP Pat Davidson, the ministry responded by email to say the minister was not aware of the action and the decision is suspended pending a review.
Mayor Bradley is pleased the Harper government is being held accountable but he warns we must remain vigilant to ensure the service remains as is.
