Museum Asking County Council For Help

Stones 'N Bones Museum wants to build a wheelchair platform lift and they're asking county council to help with the costs.

Curator Jim Richards says with an operating budget of just under $60,000, they will need some funds from the county to help purchase the $40,000 lift.

He says the lift will make the museum more accessible, which attracts more bus tours and should help neighbouring businesses downtown.

He says currently their lack of accessibility has kept some people from enjoying the museums second floor, missing a good chunk of what the museum has to offer.

County council will make a decision on the grant request at budget deliberations on March 18.
