OHL Board To Consider Sting Sale Monday

The Ontario Hockey League Board of Governors is scheduled to consider the sale of the Sarnia Sting Monday, weather permitting.

Rob and Larry Ciccarelli have announced plans to sell the team to former NHL player Derian Hatcher and David Legwand who is currently playing for the Ottawa Senators.

The transfer of ownership to the two Michigan natives is on Monday's board agenda. City of Sarnia approval is also required.

The prospective new owners have said the team will stay in Sarnia.

Also on Monday's Board of Governors agenda is the proposed ownership transfer of the Plymouth Whalers and the team's relocation to Flint, Michigan.
