Police Say Plan For A Safe New Years Eve

Sarnia Police Services want everyone to have a safe and Happy New Year.

Stepped up enforcement will be noticeable across the city and R.I.D.E programs will be set up, looking for impaired drivers.

Sarnia police made 5,340 stops in November and December. Officers conducted 39 roadside tests and issued eight roadside suspensions.

Constable Les Jones says drinking and driving is simply not worth it. He advises motorists to plan ahead, take public transit or call a cab.

Lambton OPP will also continue their Festive R.I.D.E program through New Years Day.
